The record

This page has no plate of its own: the project-images well is empty, and the reader's text mode lifts no image for entry 036. The info line above once read “A private study on structuring a personal portfolio across asset classes, geographies, and time horizons. The working documents stay private; the framework informs the studio's finance-side design work.” The page head still carries the first sentence as its meta description.

The surviving visual record is ten files in one folder, 1.9 MB, each referenced exactly once and only by the folio: n-disc.jpg 1500×1547, n-burst.jpg 900×1201, n-fractal.jpg 760×1130, n-torus.jpg 1000×906, n-sphere.png 596×567, n-rings.png 426×412, n-wheel.png 412×412, n-cone.png 188×162 at 21 KB, and two vector plates, f6-cells.svg and f10-target.svg. No engine file exists for this slug. The folio runs eight spreads, six numbered I to VI with the cover and the closing spread unnumbered; its cover line and its meta description both call it a folio in nine plates, and the page carries ten images.

f6-cells.svg still contains the page it was cut from: a rectangle M0,0H595.28V841.89H0Z filled #000000 — A4 at 72 points to the inch, painted black — carrying a light panel M25,25H195.93V275H25Z filled #ededed. What the folio shows is the viewBox alone, 164.3 × 244.6 points at 25.6, 26.1, trimming the panel's own edges on all four sides so no page edge is visible.

37,745 of that file's 58,801 characters, 64% of it, are five paths of type converted to outlines: a band 5.6 points tall, y 269.3 to 274.9, running from x 140.6 to x 1268.4 — past the A4 page edge at 595.28 and far outside the crop. A line of set type is carried in the published file and never drawn. Inside the crop, drawn on that panel, are two stroked figures and no filled ones: a 0.25 pt hairline about 104 × 100 points with a 1 pt stroke about 48 × 46 points set inside it. The folio captions it CELLS.

f10-target.svg is a card 261.4 × 120 points filled #f6f6f6 carrying five concentric rings, all centred on 1034.86, 735: each band about 3.1 points wide with a gap of the same width, the outer radius 34.56 points, the radii stepping down 6.23 points at a time. At the centre, inside the innermost ring, is not a dot but a letterform, a T of 5.6 × 6.3 points; the folio heads that spread TARGETING and sets a four-rung ladder beside it. The file's viewBox ends at x 1157.3 while the card runs to x 1165.55, clipping its own card 8.2 points short at the right edge. Both vector plates carry figure numbers from a sequence that is not the folio's — f6 and f10 against eight unnumbered rasters — and in the folio f6 falls on spread III, f10 on spread VI.

The plates are timed. Eight plate classes in the stylesheet are declared animation-play-state: paused and run only under .vf-live: vfspin 90s on the disc, 150s reversed on the burst, 120s on the wheel, 70s reversed on the fractal; vfdrift 26s, vfbreathe 14s on the first figure of the trio and again on the second with animation-delay −5s so the two are never in phase, vfhover 18s, vfping 6.5s.

The folio's inline script sets the window they run in: a spread is live while r.top < h * 0.82 && r.bottom > h * 0.12, and marked arrived at r.top < h * 0.86 && r.bottom > 0; the IntersectionObserver uses threshold 0.12 and rootMargin -6% 0px -6% 0px. Under prefers-reduced-motion it adds vf-in to every spread and returns before any observer is attached. The author's comment above it: “each spread lifts into place as it arrives, and the plates only animate while they are on screen”.

The rule stated on the entry is a paraphrase of the third paragraph of spread III — the spread whose three figures are captioned CELLS, CORPORATE FISSION and FRACTAL GROWTH — which words it: “When a single product, department or person contributes 30% or more of revenue, the separation happens naturally. We create a new company around it, and repeat.”

Two further lines of the folio belong to No 038: the wheel plate's on-art text, MARKETS ARE DESIGNED OBJECTS. WHOEVER DRAWS THE INTERFACE GOVERNS IT., compresses clause 04 of that project's working text, and the colophon closes on clause 01 as far as its first comma, “Design is not decoration. It is the allocation of attention.” Neither page notes the borrowing.

Three surfaces give three dates. The details panel above says 2023, Dubai. The folio says 2024 three times — running head, cover, and the colophon's “drawn 2024, recovered 2026”. The reader carries no year for this row at all and prints “Off the record · undated”, while the story index files the same project with the year n.d. Recorded here, not resolved.
